According to external sources, Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange (DEX) in the DeFi sector by volume, has now launched on the Avalanche network. Users of Avalanche's DeFi can now utilize the 3rd generation automated market maker (AMM). This allows them to swap, become liquidity providers (LP), create a liquidity pool and vote on governance proposals. Uniswap has reportedly facilitated over $1.5 trillion in lifetime transaction volume.
The decision to launch Uniswap on Avalanche was made following a governance proposal by the University of Michigan's blockchain club. The proposal received overwhelming support, with 96% voting in favor of the launch. Layer Zero's omnichain messaging protocol facilitates message passing between Ethereum and Avalanche, allowing for asset transfer and governance communication.
